We had 26 kids, kindergartners through 5th graders, competing across 3 different team sections. We had many medalists, with teammates scoring 2.5-4 out of a possible 4 points! Our Rookie U600 team took the 1st place trophy! Our U1500 team came in 5th place with a competitive field of over 20 teams.
Adam, Jadeyn, Jaxson, Sammy, Tim, Chloe, Wyatt, and Jax took home the 3rd place team trophy!
Congratulation to Jax who took home the individual 3rd place trophy in a field of 93 kids! He went undefeated with a perfect 4-0 score!
We would like to give a recognition of gratitude to our awesome 4th and 5th grade volunteers who worked with a group of P.S.11 alumni middle school volunteers to sell concessions at the chess tournament! Proceeds from pizza, snacks, and drink sales go to the P.S.11 Annual Fund and help pay for the in school chess programming. Keep eyes out for our upcoming tournaments throughout the year. We will post volunteer opportunities here in the digest.
