Our Kindergarten students have started their in-school chess curriculum and our amazing friends over at the non-profit the Gift of Chess have gifted each of our Kindergarten kiddos a chess set to take home. We are so grateful for their generosity to P.S. 11 as well as for the work they are doing to bring children chess sets all over the world to countries like Lagos, Malawi,
The second semester of the Tuesday chess team began last week on February 4th, but it is not too late to sign up! Registration is prorated on a rolling basis. The chess team training is run by Impact Coaching Network and is a separate registration process from our P.S. 11 Afterschool Programming.
Children who participate in Tuesday chess can still stay for extended dismissal and register for a second session after school class. Please reach out to [email protected] with any questions regarding the difference between the Monday chess class run through after school and ICN’s Tuesday training class or see chart below. Participation at tournaments is NOT required to attend the Tuesday sessions, however tournament play is highly encouraged.
