Calling all P.S.11 chess players! Our school is hosting its first Chess in the Schools tournament this Saturday, October 11th. Registration is officially closed online, however we can register some P.S.11 players last minute. Please email [email protected] by Wednesday evening with your child’s full name, USCF ID number, and section request.

This tournament is run by the non-profit organization Chess in the Schools, which has taught chess to more than 500,000 children in New York city.
Students do not have to be part of the Tuesday P.S.11 Chess Club to participate and the registration is free. P.S.11 parents and students will be onsite selling concessions such as drinks, snacks, and pizza which will support our PTA Annual Fund and school chess program.
Please note, your child will need a US Chess Federation ID in order to play officially rated games: JOIN US CHESS FEDERATION HERE and sign up for a youth membership at $20 for the year. Beginners are welcome! This is not a drop off event, so an adult must be present during the entire day.
CALLING ALL 4th and 5th Grade VOLUNTEERS!
We are in need of 4th and 5th grade volunteers to help sell concessions throughout the morning and during the lunch rush from 11-1PM. Drop off optional! Signup can be found HERE
