Student Council initiatives for 2011-12 are as follows:
The 2011-12 PS11 Student Council has chosen our monthly Spirit Days
that will take place on the first Friday of each month:
December 2: Backwards/Mismatched Day!
January 6:Dress Up Like Your Favorite Book Character Day!
February 3: Crazy Hat Day!
March 2: Dress Up Like Your Teacher Day!
April 5: Dress Up as Your Hero/”What do you want to be when you grow up?” Day!
May 4: Pajama Day!
June 1: PS 11 School Spirit Day!

The 2011-12 PS11 Student Council is also working with the PS11 Kids Care Club to collect much needed food for the needy during the We CAN Do It canned food drive. From December 12-22nd, we’re collecting: Canned fruits and vegetables, Peanut Butter (plastic jars), Mac & Cheese (packages), Hot and cold cereal (packaged, family sized). Donations will be picked up from PS 11 on December 22nd by City Harvest, the world's first food rescue organization, dedicated to feeding the city's hungry men, women, and children.
The 2011-12 PS11 Student Council also plans to work together to run the PS11 Talent Show, held in February.

During the 2010-2011 school year, the Student Council began a recycling initiative, that will continue into the 2011-12 school year. Last year, the council also had a special visit with former Mayor David Dinkins, who spoke about leadership, and personal determination.
