Harvest Week 2011

Wednesday, June 22: Farm Market and Harvest Week kickoff!
PS11's first Harvest Week kickoff at the farm market featured the chef de cuisine of Daniel, Eddy Leroux. We are proud of our Farm Market and Garden, and all the hard work that goes into making them an integral part of the PS11 community.

• Our weekly Farmer’s Market buys shares from our local CSA (Community Supported Agriculture). Our CSA buys produce from Stoneledge Farm, an organic farm in New York State.
• Third graders learn about the produce and sell it at our Farmer’s Market.
• PS 11’s chorus will be performing at 9AM outside in front of the market.

Thursday, June 23: Garden to Café Harvest Celebration!
• Eat School Lunch Today!
• A delicious lunch will be prepared by chefs using vegetables and herbs from PS 11’s garden and Farmer’s Market produce.
• A special salad bar using this produce will also be available for ALL students!
• The cafeteria will be decorated and students will receive a surprise.

Friday, June 24: End of the Year Potluck Dinner & Dance Party
• Celebrate the end of the year at our annual Potluck Dinner & Dance Party!
• Salad will be served with produce from our garden and Farmer’s Market.

Throughout the week…
• Classes will be learning about gardening, harvesting, cooking and farming through all sorts of hands-on activities!
