General Information

Pre-K at PS11 is a full-day program. Socialization, getting along with others, and working and playing together is a big part of the day.

READING Pre-K students are exposed to shared reading as well as being read to.

WRITING In writing workshop, Pre-K students will draw and later in the year they will add words and sentences.

SCIENCE Pre-K students are curious about what is going on in their environment. Science will help them to discover the world around them.

MUSIC For the first half of the year, Pre-K students experience Music instruction which includes learning the keyboard.

ART, DANCE AND MOVEMENT Pre-K students will receive formal Art instruction as well as Dance and Movement.

PHYSICAL EDUCATION During Gym time Pre-K students play various games, learning about sportsmanship and rules in sports.

FIELD TRIPS Pre-K students really explore the city in which they live via numerous Field Trips which enhance the curriculum. In past years, we’ve taken trips to the American Museum of Natural History, the Central Park Zoo, the Bronx Botanical Gardens, the Union Square Farmers Market, Town Hall Theater, Atlantic Theater, Circle In The Square Theater, Swiss Cottage puppet theater, and more.
